  • Abstract:
The electromagnetic shielding device includes a frame and a lid. The frame includes sidewalls and upstanding male detent elements with outwardly extending detent protrusions. The lid includes a generally planar top with peripheral lip portions. Slots are formed at the intersection of the lid and the peripheral lip portions so that upstanding male detent elements can extend therethrough and detent engage the frame to the lid. Variations of the detent engagement are shown in different embodiments. In particularly, a reduced height of the electromagnetic shielding device can be achieved.

  • International Classification:
    H05K 9/00
  • US Classification:
    174382, 174377
  • Abstract:
A shielding enclosure generally includes a frame and a lid. The frame may include sidewalls, an inwardly extending horizontal lip defining an open top for the frame, generally horizontal flanges extending outwardly relative to the lip, and one or more openings disposed generally under the corresponding one or more flanges. The lid may include an upper surface to cover the frame's open top, a downwardly extending lip configured to at least partially fit generally over the frame's sidewalls, one or more openings, and one or more generally upwardly extending flanges having one or more lateral detent protrusions. The lid may be attached to the frame by the interlocking engagement of the lid's one or more lateral detent protrusions generally under the corresponding one or more flanges of the frame, which said one or more flanges of the frame are at least partially received through the corresponding one or more openings of the lid.

  • International Classification:
    H05K009/00
  • US Classification:
    174/052100
  • Abstract:
An EMI/RFI shield assembly for shielding printed circuit board components, including a frame affixed to the PCB, and a lid connected to the frame. The frame sidewalls each have top and bottom portions. Each bottom portion includes formed series of crenals and merlons. The crenals have a termination edge disposed a predetermined distance from the merlons. The lid includes a cover wall portion and engagement elements extending therefrom such that at least one of the engagement elements is associated with each sidewall. Each engagement element includes a surface for connection with the frame at the upper terminating edge of one of the crenels, whereby said lid is biased toward the frame compensating for tolerance stack-up.

  • International Classification:
    H05K009/00
  • US Classification:
    174/052100
  • Abstract:
An EMI/RFI shield comprises a frame and a push-fit lid. The frame includes a frame top wall having outer frame edges jointly defining a frame perimeter of predetermined configuration in plan view, and a plurality of side walls depending from the frame edges. The lid includes a frame cover wall having free edges jointly defining a cover wall perimeter complementary in configuration in plan view to that of the frame perimeter, and a plurality of elongated spring fingers formed integrally of the cover wall and extending from the free edges. The fingers are configured to extend laterally beyond said frame perimeter and then downwardly and inwardly to engage the side walls when the lid is fit on the frame. At least some of the fingers have contact portions that are received in slots provided in the frame side walls.
