A filter medium capable of removing microorganisms from a fluid such as water. The filter medium includes particles of activated carbon, particles of a substantially insoluble inorganic material having an isoelectric point greater than the fluid being filtered. A low melt index binder, preferably with a melt index of less than about 1 gram per 10 minutes, binds the particles of activated carbon and particles of inorganic material, such that the binder will become tacky at elevated temperatures without becoming sufficiently liquid to substantially wet the particles of activated carbon and inorganic material. An antimicrobial material can be incorporated into the filter to prevent biofilm growth. The use of a biocidal material in combination with the high isoelectric point material provides a trap-and-kill mechanism for microorganism removal.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a reusable cleaning implement for cleaning and sanitizing a surface. More specifically, the cleaning implement is made of a tacky polymeric material and an antibacterial agent is distributed within the polymer. The adhesive and antibacterial properties of the cleaning implement are regenerated by contact with a cleansing agent.
A cleaning composition with a limited number of ingredients contains a polyaluminum compound and surfactant. The cleaning composition optionally has an additional amount of fragrance. The cleaning composition optionally has a small amount of solvent. The cleaning composition optionally comprises a comprises a group selected from the group consisting of a dye, a builder, a fatty acid, a colorant, a preservative, a chelating agent, a colloidal silica and mixtures thereof.
This invention relates to compositions containing lower (C1-C4) alcohol and a polymeric fluorosurfactant formulated for being dispensed as a foam product. More particularly, the invention relates to improved compositions formulated with polymeric fluorosurfactants with pendant perfluoroalkyl side chains of a fully fluorinated chain length of C1-C7. The compositions also relate to use for personal care, such as skin sanitizing and cleansing.

Abstract:
A composition formulated to form a non-smooth surface on a substrate surface at least after the composition has been applied to the substrate and has substantially dried or set. The composition including a first and second set of colloidal particles. Each of the first and second sets of colloidal particles includes a plurality of colloidal particles. The first set of colloidal particles can have an average particle size that is greater than the average size of the second set of particles. The number of colloidal particles in the second set of colloidal particles can be greater than the number of colloidal particles in the first set of colloidal particles. One or more of the colloidal particles can be modified to include one or more hydrocarbon chains.
