Abstract:
An air spring actuated slider pin release system for a semi-trailer slider includes an actuator shaft oriented to extend in generally parallel relationship to at least one of a pair of parallel main members, being connected to the slider for axial rotation, and having a transverse lever arm secured to each end of the shaft for common rotation. Each lever arm has an end connected to a retractable, biased lock pin via a link so that rotation of the shaft and the lever arms causes retraction of the associated lock pin relative to the main member. The actuator shaft has a normally projecting air spring bracket. An air spring is disposed between one of the main members and the air spring bracket so that inflation of the air spring acts on the air spring bracket, axially rotating the shaft and the lever arms for retracting the lock pins.

Abstract:
A vehicle suspension is provided, including an axle having an axle body with an exterior surface, a main trailing arm shell portion having a first axle engagement surface configured for engaging a first portion of the exterior surface, and a second trailing arm shell portion having a second axle engagement surface configured for engaging a second portion of the exterior surface. Upon assembly to the axle, the main trailing arm shell portion and the second trailing arm shell portion engage more than 180 of a curvature of the exterior surface.

NX Unigraphics 7.5 Modeling Software~215+ hours Fundamental Solid Works Operation~15 hours Fundamental Pro-E Operation~10 hours FEA Analysis (NX Nastran)~ 25+ hours Experiential Design: Pumpkin Launcher- Designed a device that launches a pumpkin a specified distance utilizing teamwork and basic design principles. Introduction to Design: Tennis Ball Launcher-Designed a device that launches multiple tennis balls a specified distance and height to land in a container. Concept generation methods were used to develop a final prototype that was then built and operated in a class competition. Modeled the design in NX Unigraphics. Attended weekly labs and assignments teaching the fundamentals of basic NX Unigraphics operation. NX Unigraphics- ~50 hours CAD/CAM Design Course: Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Researched Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology and developed our own design. Modeled and assembled it in NX Unigraphics for a formal presentation presented to a Pace competition. Produced a functioning prototype and installed it into a Jeep Cherokee to improve fuel economy, although an actual working prototype was not required. Had weekly labs and assignments that taught how to use advanced feature operations in NX Unigraphics. Also learned the fundamental operations of Solid Works and Pro-E. NX Unigraphics~100 hours, NX Nastran~10 hours, Solid Works~15 hours, Pro-E~10 hours Compliant Mechanisms: Pseudo Rigid Body Leaping Mechanism-Designed a childrens toy that leaps off the ground after being dropped from a specified height. Ran fatigue FEA analysis, the final prototype was then built and demonstrated in class and submitted with a formal report. NX Unigraphics~15 hours, NX Nastran~5 hours Senior Design: Temporary Fasteners-Boeing Designed a concept temporary fastener for the Boeing Company based on specified performance criteria and dimensions. Some key objectives were minimizing head height and having variable thickness application. Required a large amount of patent research to ensure the concept wasnt infringing on existing patented designs. NX Unigraphics 7.5 and Nastran were used to model and verify strength calculations on the part. A model of the fastener was then made using one the universitys rapid prototyping machines.
