In a load commutated induction motor drive stability is achieved in a runaway situation by generating in response to the motor speed reference signal a signal representative of the desired power factor angle and in using such signal to delay by that much the gating pulses controlling the current-sourced inverter.

A magnetic resonance probe () includes a fiber optic sensor probe () and a sheath (). The fiber optic sensor probe () includes a non-ferrous sensor () on a distal portion () configured for insertion into a subject, a locking element () connected to the distal portion (), and a proximal portion () connected to the locking element () and in light communication via an optical fiber () with the non-ferrous sensor () and includes a connector ().
