  • International Classification:
    H04S 7/00
    H04S 3/00
    G06F 3/01
  • Abstract:
A method of presenting an audio signal to a user of a mixed reality environment is disclosed. According to examples of the method, an audio event associated with the mixed reality environment is detected. The audio event is associated with a first audio signal. A location of the user with respect to the mixed reality environment is determined. An acoustic region associated with the location of the user is identified. A first acoustic parameter associated with the first acoustic region is determined. A transfer function is determined using the first acoustic parameter. The transfer function is applied to the first audio signal to produce a second audio signal, which is then presented to the user.

  • International Classification:
    H04S 7/00
    G02B 27/01
  • Abstract:
A dual source spatialized audio system includes a general audio system and a personal audio system. The general system includes a general audio processor and general speakers to produce general sound. The personal system includes a frame to be worn on a head of a user and a plurality of personal speakers attached to the frame. The personal system also includes a head pose sensor to collect head pose data of the user. The personal system further includes a head pose processor to determine a head pose of the user from the head pose data. Moreover, the personal system includes a personal audio processor to generate personal audio data based on the head pose of the user. The personal speakers generate personal sound corresponding to the personal audio data. The personal processor receives timing information/metadata from the general audio processor to synchronize the personal sound with the general sound.

  • Abstract:
An augmented reality viewing system is described. A local coordinate frame of local content is transformed to a world coordinate frame. A further transformation is made to a head coordinate frame and a further transformation is made to a camera coordinate frame that includes all pupil positions of an eye. One or more users may interact in separate sessions with a viewing system. If a canonical map is available, the earlier map is downloaded onto a viewing device of a user. The viewing device then generates another map and localizes the subsequent map to the canonical map.

  • Abstract:
A cross reality system that provides an immersive user experience by storing persistent spatial information about the physical world that one or multiple user devices can access to determine position within the physical world and that applications can access to specify the position of virtual objects within the physical world. Persistent spatial information enables users to have a shared virtual, as well as physical, experience when interacting with the cross reality system. Further, persistent spatial information may be used in maps of the physical world, enabling one or multiple devices to access and localize into previously stored maps, reducing the need to map a physical space before using the cross reality system in it. Persistent spatial information may be stored as persistent coordinate frames, which may include a transformation relative to a reference orientation and information derived from images in a location corresponding to the persistent coordinate frame.

  • Abstract:
A host device having a first processor executes an application via the first processor. The host device determines a state of the application. A scenegraph is generated corresponding to the state of the application, and the scenegraph is presented to a remote device having a display and a second processor. The remote device is configured to, in response to receiving the scenegraph, render to the display a view corresponding to the scenegraph, without executing the application via the second processor.
