  • Remotely Controlled Toggle Switch

    view source
  • US Patent:
    60313013, Feb 29, 2000
  • Filed:
    Dec 31, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    9/001689
  • Inventors:
Mark Arthur Callahan - Stewartstown PA
Jeffrey Joseph Perloski - Freeland MD
Christopher Joseph Murk - Monkton MD
John Nicholas Merkle - Reisterstown MD
David Anthony Franckowiak - Bel Air MD
  • Assignee:
    AAI Corporation - Cockeysville MD
  • International Classification:
    H01H 2118
  • US Classification:
    307119
  • Abstract:
A simulated toggle switch capable of being set and reset by remote means and being manually operated. Control signals are received by two on-board electronic drive circuit assemblies which cause two corresponding magnetic solenoids to drive two cams clockwise or counterclockwise, independently of each other. This, in turn, causes a bat handle to move to an uppermost position, a lowermost position, or to be centered. In addition, the position of the switch is remotely sensed.
  • Remotely Controlled Simulated Linear Circuit Breaker Assembly

  • US Patent:
    61393274, Oct 31, 2000
  • Filed:
    Dec 31, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    9/002082
  • Inventors:
Mark Arthur Callahan - Stewartstown PA
Jeffrey Joseph Perloski - Freeland MD
Christopher Joseph Murk - Monkton MD
John Nicholas Merkle - Reisterstown MD
  • Assignee:
    AAI Corporation - Cockeysville MD
  • International Classification:
    G09B 6900
  • US Classification:
    434224
  • Abstract:
A remotely controlled simulated linear circuit breaker capable of being set and reset remotely, and manually operated. Control signals are received by an on-board controller circuit card assembly. The signals will cause a plunger located in a solenoid housing to do one of two things. Either it will be extracted out of the solenoid housing, thereby popping the simulated circuit breaker, or it will be pulled into the solenoid housing, thereby resetting the simulated circuit breaker. In addition, the position of the switch is remotely sensed.
  • Remotely Controlled Rotary Switch For Simulating Multi-Position, Rotary, Wafer-Type, Switches

    view source
  • US Patent:
    61340944, Oct 17, 2000
  • Filed:
    Dec 31, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    9/002083
  • Inventors:
Mark Arthur Callahan - Stewartstown PA
Jeffrey Joseph Perloski - Freeland MD
Richard Michael Quintavalle - Parkton MD
  • Assignee:
    AAI Corporation - Cockeysville MD
  • International Classification:
    H01H 4700
  • US Classification:
    361152
  • Abstract:
The present invention employs rotary switches that can be electromechanically set or reset remotely. Typical, although not limiting, is the use of the switch of the present invention by a trainer located remotely from students' STE. Manual operation is still possible. This allows the setting of the rotary switches to an initial position prior to the trainees beginning their testing. This facilitates remote setup and thereby saves the instructor significant time in manually resetting the rotary switches.
