Abstract:
A method of producing a polycarbonate film for optical recording media is provided. The polycarbonate film includes a plurality of layers, and the method includes arranging the plurality of layers so that a principal optical axis of a first layer is at an angle greater than zero degrees from a principal optical axis of a second layer.

Abstract:
An optical structure is described. The optical structure includes a light source emitting light in a first wavelength range. The optical structure also includes a light redirecting element arranged to receive light from the light source and provide redirected light redirected in a preferred direction or orientation. The light redirecting element comprises a material which absorbs light in a second wavelength range within the first wavelength range such that the redirected light is in a third wavelength range.

Abstract:
A poly(arylene sulfide) resin composition is provided which contains a low molecular weight poly(arylene sulfide) resin, a high molecular weight poly(arylene sulfide) resin and impact modifiers. The compositions exhibit enhanced levels of low temperature impact properties. The compositions are useful in the manufacture of molded articles. Preferably the compositions utilize an elastomeric block copolymer as the impact modifier, and further comprise an epoxy functional alpha-olefin elastomer.

Abstract:
Novel addition polymers and copolymers derived from carbamate-functionalized vinyl monomers, and optionally one or more conventional vinyl monomers such as acrylonitrile and/or styrene, are disclosed. When the addition polymers or copolymers are melt processed with an elastomer containing moieties reactive with amines, novel addition polymer-rubber copolymers are formed which are useful as compatibilizers and impact modifiers in plastic blends, such as AES.
