Abstract:

An apparatus for compressing floor boards, the apparatus comprising a first plate including a first edge gripping device for gripping an edge of a first floor board, and a compression biasing device such as a coil spring or bungee cord mounted on the first plate. A second plate includes a second edge gripping device for gripping an edge of a second floor board, and a strap clamp. A compression strap is joined at its proximal end with the biasing device and extends, in parallel juxtaposition to the first and second floor boards, for terminating, and removably engaging the strap clamp, such that the biasing device causes the first and second plates to draw the first and second floor boards, as well as any intermediate boards, into compression.

Abstract:

A material shearing apparatus uses a horizontal receiver bar in support of a pair of spaced apart vertical guide rods having retainer blocks fixed in place on them, and a shearing head slidingly engaged with the guide rods so as to move between raised and lowered positions. A camshaft rotates eccentrically in the retainer blocks so as to bear on the shearing head which is thereby moved downwardly against return springs.

Abstract:

A hand tool is used for resizing bent, broken, warped or swollen tongue-in-groove panels, planks or boards. The tool has a cutter or file (rasp) mounted on one side so as to be inserted into a groove for cutting the groove to size. The other side of the tool has a pair of spaced apart cutting surfaces for smoothing a tongue. The tool is fastened by a simple clamp and has a handle for manipulation.

Abstract:

A highly portable, manually operated or power actuated, scoring and slicing apparatus for semi-rigid, fibrous, and/or resilient sheet and plank materials comprising a plurality of circular blades, each with a corresponding receiver and adjustment mechanism, a plurality of blade cartridges, removable guides, and latching mechanisms, drive wheels with drive lugs and corresponding lower blades, drive shafts and coupled gear trains, supported by a rigid frame constituting a plurality of rigid frame plates fastened to rigid spacers and pillow blocks, which in combination allow an operator to quickly adjust the present invention for making straight slices or score lines on materials of various widths and thicknesses, or with the removal of the guides, to make arbitrarily curved cuts on sheet or plank materials. The aforementioned device may further incorporate a storage compartment inside a structural frame with access via a hinged lid.
