Abstract:
The disclosure herein relates to organofunctional silanes and mixtures of organofunctional silanes possessing mercaptan and hydrocarbyl and/or heterocarbyl functionality. These silanes reduce or eliminate the generation of volatile organic compounds (VOC's) during use, aid in the processing of filled elastomeric materials and enhance the end-use properties of the filled elastomer. The present disclosure relates to the composition of these silanes.
Rubber Composition And Articles Therefrom Both Comprising Mercapto-Functional Silane
The present disclosure relates to a rubber composition and article comprising these silanes.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the preparation of metal chelate complexes immobilized on a support, immobilized metal chelate complexes and methods of using the supports and immobilized metal chelate complexes for the adsorption and/or hydrolysis of phosphate esters. More specifically, processes for the preparation of immobilized metal chelate complexes by attachment of metal chelate complexes to solids, polymers, micelles, liposomes, tubules and other self-organized polymolecular associations immobilized metal chelate complexes made by such processes and use of the supports and immobilized metal chelate complexes for the adsorption and/or hydrolysis of phosphate ester group containing compounds such as chemical warfare nerve agents and pesticides, are disclosed. The present invention provides the ability to efficiently decontaminate phosphate ester compounds under a wide range of conditions in a practical and cost-effective manner.

Abstract:
Embodiments of this invention comprise a pigment comprising one or more substantially spherical-shaped beads, wherein each substantially spherical-shaped bead comprises one or more high aspect ratio particles encapsulated within an encapsulating material. Embodiments also comprise a resinous composition comprising said pigment. Yet further embodiments comprise a method of preparing said pigment via suspension polymerization. The substantially spherical-shaped beads of this invention may be used to produce resinous compositions having a flowline-free colored, sparkling and/or metallescent appearance.

Abstract:
An embodiment of a method of encapsulation of a material comprises dispersing high aspect ratio particles in a monomer and/or a polymer to form a suspension mixture, adding the suspension mixture to an aqueous mixture to form an aqueous reaction mixture, heating and mixing the aqueous reaction mixture to encourage the formation of substantially spherical-shaped beads, quenching the aqueous reaction mixture after the substantially spherical-shaped beads are formed, and collecting the substantially spherical-shaped beads.
