Abstract:

Television synchronizer apparatus includes a coherent memory with preassigned fixed burst phasing of 0. degree. or 180. degree. for each line store of color video image information. The incoming synchronizing components including burst are discarded on the premise that they are well-known repetitive functions. The incoming color video image information is read into the memory coherent with the preassigned burst phasing, thereby significantly reducing the memory storage capacity normally utilized to store sync and burst information.

Abstract:

A television synchronization generator has a clock generator driving a ROM. The ROM has stored in it the required sync signals. In order to conserve the ROM size, the ROM is addressed by a counter except during portions of the sync signals when the amplitude remains a constant. During these portions the counter continues to count.

Abstract:

A circuit including emitter-coupled transistors improves the symmetry of an applied square wave. A limiter in the collector circuit limits the paraphase output voltage excursion. Changes in energizing voltage affect the current in the limiter and cause incremental changes in the output duty cycle. A compensator includes a voltage divider coupled between the output terminals for producing a control voltage related to the output signal amplitude. The control voltage controls a current source coupled to joined emitters for creating an offsetting current through the limiter.

Abstract:

In a television signal synchronizer having a coherent memory, it is necessary to modify the writing of data into memory or the reading of data out of memory in order to provide field conversion. In the described apparatus, the reading out of data is always done according to a non-variant sequence determined by the local (studio) reference timing signals. In a first embodiment the read address generator signals are modified so as to read out the stored video signal in accordance with the non-variant write in sequence. In a second embodiment the write address generator signals are modified so as to position the incoming video signal into memory so that it is located in the proper memory position for the non-variant read out sequence.

A sync generator system for PAL-B television features an offset subcarrier generator that provides an offset subcarrier signal that has phase steps of ninety degree magnitude and occur twice per field. This makes smoothing of a PLL error voltage relatively easy.
