Abstract:Provided herein are novel TXNIP-modulating compounds and methods of use thereof. The TXNIP-modulating compounds may be used to enhance cellular anti-stress defense and prevent stress-induced damage to DNA, proteins and lipids. Therefore, TXNIP-modulating compounds may be used to treat or prevent a wide variety of stress-induced diseases and thus aging.

Abstract:The present invention provides a composition and method for increasing sensitivity of a cancer cell and to reverse or prevent resistance to a cytotoxic agent. The composition includes an inhibiting agent and, optionally, a cytotoxic agent. The inhibiting agent is present in a sub-lethal dose with respect to the cancer cell in the absence of the cytotoxic agent.
